AUDEMARS PIGUET Royal Oak Offshore Diver CHRONOGRAPH

By TLex AP Said Let there be color! and there was color! A colorful new collection of ROO Diver Chronographs have joined the ROO Diver family, which just last year received a bit of a revision itself with a new exhibition caseback and a new white dial variant.

Now into its sixth year of production, the ROO Diver has been released in a total of 5 versions over the past few years; each can traces its roots directly back to APs first divers model, the ROO Scuba. [CARBON] [CERAMIC] [FORGED] [QEII] [SCUBA] [STEEL] [WHITE]

Four bold new colors including: blue, green, orange and yellow have been chosen for the collection. The blue version with the yellow accents is definitely the best looking of the bunch with the orange version running a close second. The blue version is Ref. #26703ST.OO.A027CA.01, the orange version is Ref. #26703ST.OO.A070CA.01.

The ROO diver Chrono features a Stainless steel case with a glare-proofed Sapphire crystal and caseback, black ceramic chrono-pushers and a screwdown crowns. It is water-resistant to 300 meters. The diving function indicator has been highlighted in color for better readability at depths of up to 300 meters.

Its dial is with APs signature Mga Tapisserie (waffle) pattern, color-matching counters, white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands (yellow minutes hand for blue version) with luminescent coating, blue rotating inner bezel with diving scale and zone from 60 to 15 minutes in yellow.

Powering the ROO Diver Chrono is an AP Calibre 3124 / 3841 Manufacture movement with: 59 jewels, a frequency of 3,00 Hz (21'600 alternances/hour) and a Monobloc rotor in 22-carat gold.

The new Royal Oak Offshore Diver Chronograph is presented on a color-matching rubber divers strap. They are available exclusively from AP Boutiques Worldwide.

IWC Aquatimer CHRONOGRAPH Edition La Cumbre VOLCANO

By TLex IWC have extended their 2014 Aquatimer family with a further three new models for 2016. These include: the Aquatimer Automatic 2000, the Aquatimer Automatic Edition Expedition Jacques-Yves COUSTEAU and the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition La Cumbre Volcano Ref. IW379505,

which will be produced in a Limited Edition of 500 watches. The diver features an INC-manufactured 89365-calibre movement. It is water-resistant to 30 bar, the chronograph has a flyback function, automatic winding and a power reserve of 68 hours.

The dive time can be set using the mechanical external/internal rotating bezel. This ingenious in-house development from IWC combines the legibility of an internal rotating dive ring with the ease of use of an external bezel.

The IWC SafeDive system ensures that the inner ring can be moved only anticlockwise. The luminescent coating on the hands, numerals and internal rotating bezel guarantee optimum legibility under water.

The Limited Edition is dedicated to the La Cumbre volcano on the island of Fernandina. The internal rotating bezel, central seconds and minute hand of the chronograph display are dark red in color to symbolize seething magma. The engraving on the case back shows the volcano erupting.

The stainless-steel case is coated with matte black rubber, which gives the watch its singular feel. Every case is individually pressure and heat-bonded with the rubber. Part of the proceeds from sales is used to support the Charles DARWIN Foundation.
