Eberhard & Co. SCAFOGRAF 300

By TLex Heres a name we dont here enough of in the dive watch community; Eberhard & Co. I have long been a fan of the SCAFODAT 500, the SCAFOMATIC not so much. So I am pleased to see Eberhard & Co. making a return to the dive arena with a strong new vintage inspired model. The Scafograf was first introduced in the 1950s, and has slowly evolved over the years.

The collection was made up of steel models which were water-resistant to 100, 200, 300, 400, 750 or 1000 meters, with or without a rotating bezel and luminescent hour markers. However I believe that the reference used for this new model comes from the 1964 Scafograf 300.

Eberhard & Co have paid tribute to this historic original Scafograf 300 with an almost identical replica of it. Its robust 43mm Stainless steel case is equipped with Sapphire crystal, a ceramic unidirectional rotational divers bezel in ceramic and an HEV. I like how this has been made a feature of by using a large valve opening an by sculpting the side of the case.

The new Scafograf 300 ensures optimum reliability with a legible dial, highlighted with SuperLuminova. The dial only comes in black but there is a choice of: a blue, white or yellow seconds indicator, hour markers and text. As its name suggests, it is water-resistant to 300 meters. Power comes from a Swiss made automatic mechanical, ETA 2824-2 caliber.
