Maurice Lacroix Pontos S DIVER 2ndLook

By TLex Here's a bit more info. and a few more images of the lovely new Pontos S DIVER Diving CHRONO, a diver that is set to put Maurice Lacroix on every dive watch aficionado's radar this year.

From ML If any diver's chronograph can be naturally in tune with the times, this one can. The Pontos S is perfect for short dives with a modern style that perfectly combines form and function. A design that blends mechanical expertise with contemporary style: accessible yet crafted down to the last detail. This timepiece will surely speak to a generation that sees everyday living as an art.

Resolutely sporty, the character of the Pontos S is clearly inspired by the world of sport, from the tautness of its silhouette to the determination of its face. The dynamic strap is a perfect match for the case. The all steel version sports a NATO strap whose contrasting sleek design encapsulates the collection's sporting spirit.

Comfortable and hypoallergenic, especially in wet conditions, the nylon strap demonstrates exceptional strength. This no doubt explains its extreme popularity with athletes, divers and astronauts, who can easily adjust it according to the thickness of their gear.

The 43 mm diameter stainless steel case is water resistant to 200 meters. It features a winding crown and two pushpieces shaped to ensure a better grip, accentuating the chronograph's strong character. The bezel ring is inside, in an original contrast to usual practice.

Available in a range of colors, the Pontos S is mechanized by the self--winding Valjoux 7750 movement, which boasts a long pedigree in terms of performance and accuracy. Maurice Lacroix Pontos S DIVER

By TLex Here's a sneak preview of Maurice Lacroix's latest divers model. The new Pontos S DIVER has a water-resistance of 200m. Its 43mm case is equipped with an internal divers bezel, which is operable via the crown / Chrono pusher at 2 o'clock - combining both operations - not too dissimilar to the previous generation of Aquatimer Chronos.

The watch is powered by the ML112 caliber based on the Valjoux 7750. Two color options are available; black 'n' orange or black 'n' blue. The watches are seen here teamed with matching NATO straps, but are also available with an Ss bracelet. A VERY attractive diver!

For reference (below) the 200m Maurice Lecroix Miros DIVER from a few years back. It was made as a three hands or a Chrono.

RSW Diving Tool CAMO

By TLex Has the love it or hate it RSW Diving Tool now become the love it or loathe it Diving Tool? RSW have added two digital-camo dials, which are available in either blue or green to their Diving Tool family. I could be alone here, but I quite like it. Read below for more . . .

From RSW The word camouflage was established in 1914 like the brand RSW ... what could be more convenient to create a limited edition of our Diving Tool diver family integrating two camouflage dials limited to 49 units with an assorted nato bracelet offered in a special box set including a Swiss knife and an extra changeable rubber bracelet. It was in the year 2000 that the Canadian military devised the first computer-assisted digital camouflage, camouflage uses the synthesis of satellite images. This is the procedure that was used by RSW to create these 2 dials.

RSW Diving Tool line enters the small circles of exclusive diving watches. The divers watch remains in its robustness and reliability the sports watch par excellence . Diving Tool with its strong and very masculine contemporary case fully marries this saying. The unidirectional rotating bezel is with graduated scale measuring the duration of immersion. Water resistant to 300 meters with a Screw down crown, the Camo Diving Tool is available in a 3 hands and date execution for perfect readability under extreme water conditions. The Camo Diving Tool line is presented in solid stainless steel and in black PVD treatment in limited series.

BLANCPAIN X Fathoms (robbery)

By TLex Below - the aftermath of an attempted burglary that took place on Friday at the Blancpain X Fathoms exhibition at the 'Cit du Temps' in Geneva. Thieves apparently smashed display cases to get at the world's most technologically advanced mechanical dive watches.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the robbery, and thanks to an efficient intervention from the SIR security company one of the four thieves was promptly arrested with most of the watches. However the damage caused to several pieces forced Blancpain to close the doors to the event earlier than scheduled.

DOXA Splash Gent (waterpark edition!)

By TLex Introducing the new DOXA 'Splash Gent' (complete with tachymeter trachymeter)  - oops, a slight spelling mistake! The imaginatively named new DOXA isn't by any means worthy of the Doxa name; what do you think?

When I visit the Doxa booth at the Basel fair this year am I going to find the new 'Splash Gent' displayed alongside the latest SUBs or will they have a man outside in a long rain-coat lined! I hope it's the latter because I'm no great fan of the splash gent! :(

From DOXA This new line in the Aqua collection by Doxa is pure eye candy. Splash! A watch for active men who grab life by the horns. Date, chronograph and tachymeter are contained inside its 47 mm diameter, along with the three essentials of hours, minutes and seconds.

This feast of colour is dominated by orange and the steel of the case. The rubber strap adds a softer touch to the otherwise distinctly sporty, manly lines. Proposed in six other shades, from bold to subdued, this timepiece loses none of its original and fresh style.

MOVEMENT Quartz

FUNCTIONS Hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph and tachymeter

CASE Stainless steel, 47 mm, Seconds engraved on the bezel, Scratchproof, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, Water-resistant to 100 m / 10 ATM
