ZRC Grands Fonds 300 Sport Chic CHOCO

By TLex ZRC are releasing three very special new versions of their flagship diver, the Grands Fonds 300 2015 Re-edition this May.

This model the, Grand Fonds Re-edition 300 Sport Chic Choco with its chocolate brown color palette gives the watch entirely different feel which in my opinion is absolutely killer!

New chocolate brown elements include: the dial with new golden hand-set, the bezel inlay, the crown indicator (arrow) and a handmade / handstitched Louisiana alligator strap.

The watch remains exactly the same in every respect as any other GF 300 Sport Chic, so has the same slew of innovative dive watch technologies as any other GF300.

Where the Sport Chic differs is mainly to do with its handset, which is less dramatic when compared to French Marine Nationale version of the GF 300.

In addition to the new aesthetic enhancements the Sport Chic Choco is also available with the an ETA 2824-2 Elabore movement with +/-7sec/day accuracy.

By TLex Heres a pair of exciting new Special Edition Hydroscaph models from CLERC. The Hydroscaph H1 Chronometer Carbon Edition and the Hydroscaph C1 Chronometer Vancouver Bay Edition.

The H1 Chronometer Carbon Edition boasts a deep black ultra-light, carbon fiber case while the H1 Chronometer Vancouver Bay Edition, is made from high-density steel.

It celebrates the first underwater expedition marking the partnership between Clerc Genve and the manufacturer of private submersibles, Sub Aviator Systems.

BRERA ProDIVER [no fashion diver]

By TLex Since they first launched in 2008 Brera Orologi, have been making a name for themselves with their stylish timepieces which are known for offering contemporary Italian styles combined with Swiss reliability but at an obtainable price-point.

Brera have been particularly successful in Japan, one of the worlds most savvy watch-buying markets and one that is not willing to compromise, particularly when it comes to their dive watches.

In short Japanese consumers will only consider a watch bearing the name diver if it is certified as such.

This pushed Brera to totally rethink their dive watches or should we say divers-styled watches (as they were back then);

and so began almost 3 years of development of a professional divers watch that would not only appeal to the Japanese consumer but would be able to proudly stand alongside any other professional divers model.

The new Brera PRODIVER is that watch, a diver with a premium build that blends both modern and vintage styles while achieving ISO 6425 compliance for an official diving instrument certified by the International Organization for Standardization as defined by the rigorous criteria laid out for dive watches that insists upon

a dive-time preselecting device protected against inadvertent manipulation; legibility of the dial and visibility in the dark; magnetic-, shock-, and chemical-resistance; strap durability, and most important of all

water and pressure resistance, which in the case of the Prodiver is a respectable 30ATM.

The Prodiver has an imposing 47mm case with beveled angles that have been sculpted from high-grade 316L Stainless steel that has been either sandblasted finished or has a matte grey or rose gold IP-treatment

while its components such as the chrono-pushers, crown and bezel have contrasting high-polished surfaces.

The chrono-pushers have been anodized to color-match elements such as the dial, hands or bezel track. I must admit Im really digging the grey IP version very unique!

On to the dial with its multi-level construction and wave pattern that has been designed for maximum legibility - so important that ISO has clearly delineated which elements must be absolutely clearly legible at a distance of nearly ten inches:

the time (with the minute hand obviously distinguishable from the hour hand), elapsed time on the timing bezel, and an indication that the watch is running (via a visible end-of-life indicator).

Finally, a powerful Swiss ISA 8371/2010 movement promises precision, safe under an extra-thick Sapphire crystal and protected against the elements by a screwdown crown system and chrono-pushers that have all been threaded to fit into the case precisely.

Please follow the link below for more info. on the PRODIVER as well as other models from Brera Orologi,

who incidentally are based in sunny Miami Florida with the backdrop of the blue Caribbean ocean, the perfect setting for inspiring new dive watch designs.

OMEGA Seamaster PLOPROF 1200M Master Chronometer 2ndLOOK

By TLex The Ploprof 12OOM family has now grown to 6 members, 4 new ones in TITANIUM for 2016, powered by the Master Chronometer caliber 8912 and

2 in Stainless STEEL with Sapphire bezel inlays, powered by the Co-Axial 8500 caliber that were first launched in 2009 almost 40 years after the first Seamaster Professional 600 AKA Ploprof (Plongeur Professionnel, the French for Professional Diver) was officially introduced.

At the time, 1970 that is (to be fair, even today), the Poprofs case with its screwed-down crown located at 9 oclock placed beneath a protective steel buffer could not be mistaken for that of any other dive watch.

This unique positioning allowed for far more freedom of wrist movement while preventing any inadvertent manipulation. It was water-resistant to 600 meters. Todays version has doubled that at 1200M.

The 2016 models have three distinct new looks: the Ref. 227.60.55.21.03.001 in Titanium and 18K Sedna Gold with its polished blue bezel with Ceragold numerals and blue lacquered dial.

The Ref. 227.90.55.21.99.001 also in Titanium with its grey Silicon Nitride bezel inlay and the Ref. 227.90.55.21.04.001 with its electric blue ceramic bezel. Each of them are presented on polished Grade 2 Titanium Sharkproof mesh bracelets.

The bracelet has a double extension system and is fitted with OMEGAs new diving safety clasp whose pinned links allow precise adjustments to 18 positions. It features a divers extension to 26mm so that the watch fits perfectly over a divers wetsuit.

Further divers features include: a bi-directional divers bezel - released and locked via the characteristic security pusher at 2 oclock, and an automatic Helium Escape Valve on the side of the case at the 4 oclock position that allows Helium to escape during decompression.
